Joyflex Proakjn® is a Class III medical device that goes «beyond joint lubrication»: it combines hyaluronic acid (1.6%, 32 mg) with methylsulfonylmethane (MSM 5%, 100 mg), bringing together the benefits of viscosupplementation and prolotherapy in a single formulation. The active patent covers the combination of these two therapeutic actions.
The HA is native, chemically unmodified, from a biotechnological source without animal proteins. The MSM is hyperosmolar relative to synovial fluid (osmolarity 800–900 mOsm/kg): studies suggest that higher osmolarity solutions may improve chondrocyte survival in damaged joints.
MSM demonstrates anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative properties (inhibition of cytokines IL-6, IL-8, IL-17), with an effect on pain and functionality; it can also be useful in patients for whom corticosteroids are not indicated (diabetes, renal failure, hypertension).

Dosage: 3 injections — the second at 2 weeks, the third at 1 month.
