Joyflex 1.6% is a sterile, biodegradable and isotonic gel for intra-articular use, based on hyaluronic acid obtained through the biofermentation of Streptococcus equi, formulated at a concentration of 16 mg/ml in physiological buffer. Thanks to its viscoelastic properties, it helps to normalise the viscosity of the synovial fluid within the intra-articular cavity.
Indicated as a synovial fluid substitute for the restoration of the rheological conditions of the joint, which are altered in degenerative or post-traumatic conditions — particularly gonarthrosis and arthritic conditions in the symptomatic phase. It acts only at the level of the joint into which it is injected, with no systemic action.
- Constant molecular weight 1.2–1.5 million Daltons: optimal diffusion and effective binding to the CD44 receptor.
- Native hyaluronic acid, not chemically modified, from bio-fermentation without animal proteins: allergen risk minimised.
- Dosage: initial cycle of 3 treatments, 1 every 15 days, providing coverage for 6–12 months.
- High safety profile; possible transient local reactions (pain, stiffness, redness) manageable with ice.
